Help Bring Brady HOME!

 

 

 

This kit is not just any ordinary kit; it is for an amazing cause and an amazing little guy that needs a family, a home, and someone to love and care for him. The Hartman family, are in the process of adopting the sweet boy above. They feel called to rescue this little boy "Brady" from a mental institution in Eastern Europe. Because he has Down Syndrome, Brady was abandoned at birth, just like the majority of children with any sort of disabilities in Eastern Europe and other parts of the world. lt is standard procedure when these children turn between 4-6 years old (depending on region) that they are transferred from Orphanages to full blown Mental Institutions. This transfer is very traumatic, and many times these children suffer and sometimes die due to the conditions. Brady has already been transferred and The Hartmans are trying to get to him as quickly as possible. The cost of this adoption is well between $20,000- $30,000 and so we just want to be able to contribute a little toward that huge amount. The amazing designers at Stuff to Scrap have put together an awesome collaboration that can be used to donate to this great cause. All proceeds from the sell of *Brady* goes directly to the Hartman's adoption fund.

Recent Layouts

So I figured I'd post the LOs I've done as part of the speed scraps here on my blog in addition to posting them in the galleries. I also did a page today for the Featured Designer Challenge over at The Studio .

First up is the LO from my first ever speed scrap. It was at STS. The kit is B2N2's Mommy's Little Boy. It's my stepdaughter and our newest grandbaby.

Next is my second-ever speed scrap LO (and boy, it was alot harder than the first!). It was hosted by Connie Prince over at Gotta Pixel and it's her kit Time to Play:

And finally the page today from the Featured Designer Challenge. It's Nibbles Skribbles Everyday Moments add-on (used exclusively for this challenge). I love the colors and can't wait to see the whole kit! It would be awesome to win it!

Finally getting some stuff into some of my galleries. Gotta Pixel and Stuff to Scrap galleries each have one new LO thanks to speed scraps last night and tonight. Last night's was the first time I'd ever participated in one. It was so much fun! If you haven't done one yet, jump in and do it...you'll get some great layouts! Happy weekend!

Catching Up

So, even though we don't celebrate the holidays, I seem to have gotten horribly behind on EVERYTHING...scrapping, housekeeping, etc.  In my defense, we DID have family in town for a week. ;)

Now that the new year has arrived, I have GOT to get more scrapping done! Since I'm relatively new to digiscrapping, I still have tons of pics that need to be scrapped. So...keep an eye out here. I hope to be more active posting layouts, sales, etc. And there may be some even MORE exciting news soon....

A non-scrap post

So AJ (4) and I are at Target today getting lunchmeat. He's checking out all the meats and cheeses in the deli case and asking about them. He points to the aged Swiss and asks what it is....I tell him it's aged Swiss "it's old cheese". He says "oh, you mean like from the 1980's?". I thought the poor guy working behind the counter was gonna choke. It was so funny. Out of the mouths of babes....

Today's the Day -- New Kit!

Today is the day Kathy ( The Latest Scoop Too ) and Tracy ( Growing Pains - Scrapped ) release their collab kit, Altered Path. I had the privilege of working for Kathy on her part of the kit. It was so much fun. The kit is great...very colorful and versatile. I scrapped girls in both my LO's, but it can be used for just about anything!
